What's the job?

As the pricing officer you will be the key player in the pricing process where you will optimize the pricing strategies and pricing methodologies to achieve a higher overall profitability. You will support the major stakeholders in this process (Product Management, Customer Support, and Sales etc.) with data analysis on pricing and identify opportunities for optimizing margins. A key part of the role is to maintain and improve the pricing structure including the dedicated pricing tool.

What will you be doing?
  • Playing the leading role for pricing within Malvern Panalytical in a range of ways: supporting Product Management and Sector organization to determine the right pricing strategies that support the product positioning and profitability targets.
  • Seeking approaches to assess optimal pricing strategies based on market data (customer and/or competitor data).
  • Optimizing the data and IT infrastructure that supports pricing activities and processes across stakeholders.
  • Orchestrating the yearly pricing review.
What are your responsibilities?
  • Be the matter expert on pricing, pricing strategies and tactics to help realize MP's business objectives.
  • Communicate, challenge and advise the Executive Management Team on opportunities to drive growth through pricing strategies.
  • Drive and partner with sector sales, product management and customer service leadership to define pricing strategies and execute price improvement initiatives.
  • Review product price positioning and profitability to identify margin improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate the pricing review process and participate in business case development during NVI with Product Management.
  • Gather and curate market, customer and competitor insights related to pricing; work with Sector Sales, Customer Support and Product Management to explore pricing in identified markets.
  • Assess pricing metrics from multiple sources to derive pricing insights and performance; define and test pricing propositions and support integration into business cases.
  • Evaluate competitive landscape to inform commercial approaches; develop KPIs for pricing performance.
  • Lead the development of the Global Pricing System, its processes, methods and tools; train and inspire internally about pricing through communities, deep dives and webinars.
  • Conceptualize and implement methods/tools to improve pricing activities and performance management; keep up with pricing trends and best practices.
  • Own and manage the Global Pricing System Tool (Zilliant Price Manager): maintain configuration, roll out updates, and liaise with finance, IT and suppliers; provide tool support (reports, dashboards) for stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with Finance and Data Management on pricing topics; collaborate with Product Management and Sector Sales as needed.
What do you need to be successful in this role?
  • At least 5 years' experience in finance, pricing, revenue management, product marketing or similar, preferably in a B2B environment.
  • HBO-level or Bachelor in business administration or similar field.
  • Knowledge of pricing methodologies (value drivers, customer value, price elasticity).
  • Strong communication skills to reach a diverse, cross-functional audience with vision and clarity.
  • Ability to work on both operational and strategic levels with an understanding of business dynamics and financial impacts.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data from multiple sources to drive pricing decisions.
  • Influencing skills to motivate stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Experience with Excel; SAP ERP, Salesforce, SF-CPQ, QAD tools; basic data models and databases.
  • Fluent in English (additional languages beneficial).
  • Location: close to Malvern, UK or Almelo, NL preferred; hybrid remote/onsite model.
