About The OpportunityWe currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Surgical Services team as a Clinical Nurse - Sedation Service, where you will be responsible for:
- Delivering expert, person-centred nursing care to paediatric patients ensuring safety, comfort, and positive healthcare experiences.
- Collaborating closely with the multidisciplinary team, including Nurse Consultant and Anaesthetic Consultants, to coordinate timely and effective care interventions.
- Supporting clinical governance by contributing to the development and implementation of best-practice sedation protocols, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Providing leadership and clinical teaching to colleagues, students, and less experienced staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Assisting in service planning, problem-solving, and change management to enhance sedation service delivery within the Women's and Children's Health Network.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Registered (or eligible) Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding (or eligible to hold) a current practicing certificate.
- Current Paediatric Life Support certificate. (or willingness to complete WCHN Paediatric Intermediate Life Support program).
- Minimum of 3 years post-registration experience with demonstrated clinical competence in the relevant area of nursing practice.
- Proven leadership skills, including strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution abilities.
- Experience in developing clinical policies, procedures, and managing service-related projects.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, prioritise workloads, support consumer engagement, and lead change initiatives.
- Relocation financial support may be negotiated, subject to eligibility.
- Salary package includes a range of benefits (including living expenses such as mortgage, rent, utility bills and groceries) up to $9,010 each FBT year plus $2,650 for Meal Entertainment expenses each FBT year.
