Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Distribution Design Engineer to be based in Perth in a permanent role for our client who operate in the Power Transmission & Distribution Sector.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the design, analysis, and implementation of power distribution systems for utilities.
• Develop detailed engineering plans, including system layouts, equipment selection, and electrical design calculations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
• Conduct thorough assessments and feasibility studies to optimise power distribution systems and enhance performance.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in power distribution systems.
• Identify and resolve complex engineering challenges, ensuring timely and budget-compliant project delivery.

Required Experience:

• Extensive technical knowledge of distribution networks, including 11kV, 22kV, and 66kV overhead and underground lines.
• Minimum of 2 years of Overhead Line Design experience.
• Proficiency in CAD software, particularly AutoCAD, NEARA, and/or N'Poles.
• Sound knowledge of engineering standards, regulations and procedures preferably within a Distribution network environment
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse complex technical issues.
• Exceptional communication skills to effectively convey technical information to diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
