The Hornsby CYMHS team are seeking a clinician with experience in providing triage assessment and brief intervention for children, young people and families experiencing serious mental health problems. Allied Health Professionals (Level 3): $2,154.06 - $2,223.86

Clinical Nurse Specialist (Grade 2): $2,170.30 - $2,241.60

Clinical Psychologist: $2093.71 - $2551.93

What You'll Be Doing

The Child & Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) community service provides a comprehensive range of assessment and treatments for infants, children and adolescents affected by moderate to severe or complex mental health problems, or experiencing significant emotional and behavioural problems.

The position is centred in the intake team who provides a range of triage for referrals, direct assessments for YP and families and in reach to the Hornsby Emergency Department. There are opportunities to provide brief interventions for young people and families.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.

Candidates Will Need To Meet The Following Criteria

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Nursing and registration with AHPRA or membership with AASW for Social Workers. Clinical Psychologists must have a minimum postgraduate Masters or higher in Clinical Psychology. For Social Work, experience as a Level 2 clinician. Occupational Therapist must have experience as a Level 2 clinician. Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 must have relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification or such other qualifications or relevant equivalent experience.
  • Experience and knowledge of assessment, crisis management and effective care planning with children and young people experiencing significant mental health difficulties .
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and capacity with excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to strengths based practice and recovery focused care as well as consumer and carer participation and consultation.
