About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Service Operations, the Refrigeration Technician will be responsible for delivering high-quality service while maintaining a strong focus on safety, operational efficiency, and client satisfaction. You will play a key role in ensuring that all tasks whether maintenance, repairs, or installations are executed to the highest standard and within the designated timeframes.
The position demands a proactive approach to risk management, where you'll consistently assess and mitigate potential hazards, ensuring that every task is completed in a manner that promotes both safety and operational excellence.
Duties:
Maintenance, repairs and installation of various air conditioning/ refrigeration (HVAC) systems
Assist in training, providing direction and/or supervision of apprentices or other workers as required, with safety considerations as the highest priority
Training as necessary to progress within the trade, to hold appropriate qualifications & understand safe methods of work, quality of service and environmental responsibility
Undertake quotations for repair works, within set guidelines, skills and competency and within specific authorisation levels. Workers must refrain from giving advice or recommendations outside of their job scope
Assist with the operational requirements of jobs or projects as required
If required, participate on the on-call roster, and on occasion provide ad hoc support
Other cognate duties as required for operational reasons
Skills and Experience:
A commitment to outstanding and uncompromising safety standards, service excellence and environmental stewardship and adherence to the requirements, policies, procedures and work instructions
Able to physically and safely undertake the inherent requirements of the position, including but not limited to: manual handling, working in heat, work at heights
Hold and maintain all necessary trade or training licenses and driver's license
Current Rescue and Resuscitation certification, EWP, White Card & Working at Heights
Ability to carry out service and repair works to evaporative systems, split type systems, package systems and central plant
A sound knowledge of control systems and hydronic systems (including pump and pipe systems), together with the ability to read schematic drawing and understand control strategies.
