An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health & Safety Manager to join our team based in North Ryde. You will be part of the APAC Zone Health and Safety team, reporting to the APAC H&S Leader based in Singapore. You will be pivotal in improving the Philips H&S performance and reducing operational risks by driving the Philips Health and Safety Procedure mainly in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) extension to Pacific islands.
Your role:
- Monitor and ensure our commercial activities comply with the H&S laws and regulations in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) extension to Pacific islands.
- Maintain and update applicable H&S licenses and permits, e.g., Radiation license for workers and devices, compressed vessel design registration.
- Deploy and comply with Philips Corporate Safety Standards and APAC EHS Procedures.
- Provide technical support to commercial projects, including Merger and Acquisition projects and managing contractor safety.
- Advise and partner with the PRE and facility Management team in the offices on the deployment of H&S procedures, such as office safety inspection, risk assessment/SWMS, Accident/Incident reporting.
- Conduct/Organise H&S training and audits (Internal & External).
- Implement ISO45001 certifications for ANZ under the multi-site certification framework.
- Coordinate and execute the H&S internal, external and corporate audit program.
- Manage closure of corrective actions and report compliance status to the H&S Committee and APAC H&S Leader.
- Lead, participate in or facilitate multidisciplinary workgroups on issues such as emergency response, travel safety, BCM, etc.
- Organise and document regular H&S Committee meetings and minutes respectively.
You're the right fit if:
- You are passionate about Work Health and Safety, value compliance, are risk averse, observant, and have 4-7 years' experience in a similar position in an international business environment with a tertiary qualification in WHS Management.
- Have experience with the implementation of the ISO45001 management system or are a certified internal auditor.
- You are a trusted professional with experience of ANZ Work Health & Safety Legislation codes and standards and the ability to interpret and apply them to real-world situations.
- You have exceptional interpersonal communication skills - both written and verbal - combined with the ability to relate to and influence people at all levels and adapt your approach as required. You are confident in your ability to engage and present to the MD and Management Leadership team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, well organized.
- Comfortable with travel required to be effective in this role on a regular basis across ANZ.
