Overview

Senior Sous Chef role at Anyday. We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Sous Chef to join the leadership team at sAme sAme, reporting to the Head Chef. This role leads daily kitchen operations, maintains exceptional food quality and consistency, and fosters a strong, collaborative team culture. It combines hands-on cooking with leadership responsibilities to ensure every service reflects our commitment to excellence.

sAme sAme brings the vibrant energy of Southeast Asian cuisine to life through authentic Thai dishes, prepared with the best local produce and traditional methods, like cooking over hot coals in searing woks. The menu is ever-evolving, with seasonal specials and favourites that keep guests returning. The drinks program reflects the same creativity, with a cocktail list focused on local and seasonal ingredients and a carefully curated wine selection that complements the bold flavours of the food.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Lead daily kitchen operations; ensure service flow and high quality and consistency of dishes.
  • Maintain exceptional food quality, portioning and presentation.
  • Foster a strong, collaborative team culture and lead the kitchen during both prep and service.
  • Combine hands-on cooking with leadership responsibilities to ensure every service reflects our commitment to excellence.
Qualifications
  • Experience as a Sous Chef within premium dining environments.
  • Experience working in larger kitchen brigades with structured operations and service flows.
  • Familiarity with Thai cuisine is highly regarded.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide, train, and support a team during both prep and service.
  • Clear communication style and collaborative approach to working with the front of house team.
  • Excellent standards in food quality, portioning, and presentation.
  • Good understanding of inventory management, ordering, and maintaining cost control.
  • A positive and proactive mindset, with the flexibility to adapt in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
