About This Job

Melonba High School is located in the new suburb of Melonba near Marsden Park. It opened in temporary premises at the start of 2024 with Years 7 and 8 students and moved to permanent premises at the beginning of 2025, now with students in Years 7, 8 and 9. The school is expected to experience rapid growth in enrolment during the first five years of operation and will have capacity for up to 2000 students. The first HSC cohort is expected in 2028. The school uses an innovative and future‑focused educational model, with agile teaching and learning spaces and a focus on student welfare.

Specific Selection Criteria

  • Approval to teach SCI Science
  • Approved to Teach CHE Chemistry
  • Approved to teach BIO Biology
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver teaching programs, assessment tasks, resources that integrate literacy and numeracy into daily practice
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to establish positive relationships with students, staff and parents to support student learning and wellbeing
  • Demonstrated effective classroom management strategies to enhance student learning and promote high expectations for all students
  • Demonstrated successful teaching experience in a Stage 6 Science course

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
