This role will work within the SEA2273 Sub-Program of the Warfighting Networks and Applications Support Organisation (WSO), ICT Delivery Division, Chief Information Officer Group, Department of Defence.

The Senior Network Technician will be required to perform and/or have responsibility for duties including, but not limited to:

  1. Design, build, deploy and support complex network solutions.
  2. Complete and review all associated network documentation.
  3. Create and maintain network reference architectures that can be used to support solutions development.
  4. Provide network SME advice to the customer, and internal and external stakeholders to facilitate project definition, system architecture and process improvement.
  5. Identify innovative service improvements that provide additional value to network solutions.
  6. Provide leadership, training and support to customer and project personnel.
  7. Demonstrated experience in implementing large scale, geographically dispersed and constrained networks, the associated security threat landscape and related mitigations, including:
  • Switching
  • Routing
  • Firewalls
  • Access controls
  • Load balancing
Strong knowledge of Industry standard frameworks (e.g. TOGAF) and ability to apply frameworks to architecture and solution design, including test and evaluation procedures.

Experience in Defence as a Senior Network/Gateway engineer.
