Overview

Cardiac Physiologist - Health Professional Officer Level 2 at Canberra Health Services. Full-time, Permanent. Location: The Canberra Hospital, Garran ACT. Section: Cardiology.

Responsibilities
  • Independently conduct routine and assist in complex cardiac physiology diagnostic investigations and therapeutic interventions according to procedures and published standards.
  • Support the operational and quality management requirements of the service, and educate/train staff and students.
  • Participate in continual professional development of the cardiac physiology group.
  • Participate in an on-call roster as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Current registration under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required.
  • Pre-employment National Police Check is required.
  • Comply with Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination policy.
  • Comply with CHS credentialing and scope of clinical practice requirements for allied health professionals.
  • Ability to work autonomously within the Clinical Measurement Science (CMS) disciplines (cardiac, neurophysiology, respiratory and sleep sciences).

About The Department

The cardiology department at Canberra Hospital provides inpatient and outpatient services to the ACT and surrounding region, including 24/7 primary PCI for acute STEMI. Cardiology moved to the Heart Care Centre with two dedicated cath labs and an electrophysiology suite. The CMS disciplines include cardiac, neurophysiology, respiratory and sleep sciences.
