About the role

We're looking for a Payroll Officer who's ready to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

This hybrid role involves working 2 days a week from our North Sydney office and 3 days remotely. You will manage key payroll activities for Vocus and support the People & Culture team.

Daily responsibilities

  • Process payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance.
  • Handle calculations for entitlements like overtime, leave, and terminations.
  • Reconcile payroll data and manage monthly payments (PAYG, super, tax).
  • Respond promptly to payroll queries.
  • Support payroll processes and policy adherence.

Qualifications and skills

  • 1–3 years' experience in a full-function payroll role, managing payroll for 800–2,000 employees, with knowledge of payroll legislation.
  • Attention to detail, adaptability, and ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills and team spirit.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Dayforce is a plus.
  • Organisational skills and a curious, collaborative mindset.
