The Role
The Home Support Worker (Domestic cleaning) role does not require a Cert III qualification; however a Cert II in cleaning would be advantageous. This role sits within the community home care programs and supports the independence of clients to continue to live in the community. Services are delivered in line with the client's individual care plan and include domestic cleaning and unaccompanied shopping for clients assessed as requiring low to high levels of care in and around their own homes or community establishments.

• Assist clients with general household cleaning tasks within client homes (dusting, vacuuming, mopping, linen changes, laundry, bathroom cleaning, etc.).
• Unaccompanied shopping and errands.
• Transport and community access as required.
• Engage and communicate with clients in their home and with family members or other stakeholders as required.
• Monitor and report any physical, emotional or behavioural changes/concerns as per MiCare processes and in a timely manner.
• Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders and escalate significant events to Service Coordination/Team Leader as needed.

• Knowledge of the aging process and experience caring for elders in the community.
• Ability to travel and be flexible/responsive to client and organisational needs.
• Attention to detail and high standards of service delivery and documentation.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, while accepting direction as required.
• Flexible, caring, patient attitude and professional conduct.
• Computer literate; able to use smart devices for work including care notes and rostering in MiCare processes.
• Ability to speak another language in addition to English is advantageous.

• A Certificate II in cleaning (advantageous).
• Willingness to undertake a police check.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
• Valid Queensland driver's licence, comprehensively insured and roadworthy vehicle.
• Evidence of current influenza and full COVID-19 vaccinations.
• Smartphone and access to a computer/device.

To be considered for this role you must be an Australian or New Zealand Citizen or permanent resident. The successful applicant must satisfactorily complete all pre-employment checks, including National Police Check, Working with Children Check, NDIS Check and influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations.
