Job DescriptionPNR WA Pty Ltd requires a dedicated Full HC Truck Driver for its ongoing business growth. Position – HC Truck Driver - Full-time permanent position (weekly 38 hours). Annual Salary: $75,000 to $100,000 plus superannuation.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Manoeuvring vehicles into position for loading and unloading
- Loading and unloading vehicles using lifting and tipping devices
- Observing safety requirements when loading and unloading vehicles
- Making regular quality checks of vehicles to ensure they can be driven safely
- Estimating weights to comply with load limitations and ensuring the safe distribution of weight

Our client seeking a skilled and reliable Truck Driver to join a leading mixed farming enterprise in Western Australia. This role involves transporting livestock and other agricultural products across multiple farm sites, ensuring safe and efficient delivery. The successful candidate will play a key part in maintaining the smooth operation of a large-scale farming business that prioritises sustainable and regenerative practices.
This position requires a hands-on professional who is committed to safety, teamwork, and high-quality work standards. You will be responsible for operating heavy vehicles, managing loading/unloading procedures, and ensuring compliance with transport regulations. Livestock Transport & Handling- Safely operate and manoeuvre livestock trucks, ensuring proper positioning for stress-free loading and unloading of cattle, sheep, and other livestock.
- Follow animal welfare guidelines to minimise distress during transport, including appropriate penning, ventilation, and handling techniques.
- Coordinate with farm staff to ensure livestock are loaded efficiently, with attention to breed-specific requirements (e.g., Angus cattle handling protocols).
- Operate hydraulic lifts, ramps, and livestock crates to safely load/unload animals, ensuring smooth transitions to avoid injuries.
- Monitor livestock behaviour during loading/unloading, adjusting techniques to maintain calm and prevent agitation.
- Adhere to biosecurity measures by cleaning and disinfecting trailers between loads to prevent disease spread.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of livestock trucks, checking brakes, flooring, gates, ventilation, and fluid levels to ensure animal safety.
- Report mechanical issues promptly to prevent breakdowns that could jeopardise livestock welfare.
- Ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR) regulations for heavy vehicle operations.
- Calculate livestock weights and pen distributions to comply with road weight limits and animal density regulations.
- Adjust partitions and bedding as needed to provide stability and comfort during transit.
- Secure all gates and restraints to prevent shifting that could harm animals or destabilise the vehicle.
- Verify NLIS tags and movement documentation before transport.
- Inspect livestock for signs of injury or illness prior to loading, reporting any concerns to farm management.
- Obtain and file delivery dockets, ensuring accurate records for biosecurity and supply chain compliance.
- Coordinate with station managers, shearers, and feedlot operators to align transport schedules with mustering, sales, or processing timelines.
- Assist with livestock yard operations when required, including drafting, weighing, or tagging animals.
- Communicate delays or route changes due to weather or road conditions that may impact animal welfare.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant full-time experience in truck driving.
- Relevant licensing and qualification.
- Proven ability to operate heavy vehicles safely, perform load checks, and follow transport compliance standards.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a farming team.
- Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with regenerative farming practices.
- Experience in mixed farming (livestock and cropping operations).
- Willingness to adapt to seasonal demands and flexible work hours.
