About the Role
At Spell, we're inspired by creativity, connection, and conscious design and are looking for a Garment Technician to join our Byron Bay team on a part time basis (open to consider all applicant availabilities).
This role is pivotal in bringing our design visions to life, guiding garments from development right through to production. You'll work closely with our Design and Production teams, as well as our global partners, to deliver beautiful, well-crafted garments that embody the Spell ethos.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the product journey from development through to final samples and end customer
- Creating and maintaining clear, accurate Tech Packs and spec sheets
- Conducting garment fittings and ensuring alignment with design briefs, technical feasibility, and commercial requirements
- Building and nurturing strong relationships with international suppliers
- Monitoring timelines and the Critical Path to ensure smooth seasonal transitions
- Reviewing samples for fit, fabric, trim, and construction, and providing timely feedback to suppliers
- Supporting sustainability initiatives by exploring organic and low-impact material options
- Staying up to date with trends, construction techniques, and technologies
- Collaborating across teams to ensure product quality and accuracy for launches, campaigns, and online
About You
- Technical knowledge of garment construction and pattern making across multiple categories
- Excellent time management and organisation skills, with the ability to manage seasonal workloads
- Strong communicator, confident working with international suppliers and cross-functional teams
- Proficient in Excel, Illustrator, and Office programs
- Motivated, positive, and collaborative with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
Bonus Skills:
- Experience with Clo-3D and /or patternmaking
- A passion for sustainability and innovation in fashion
