About the Metro North - Intellectual, Developmental Disability Mental Health Service (IDDMHS)

The IDD mental health team is a new, community-based mental health service. We provide assessment, support, education, and training to Metro North mental health treating teams, consumers, families/carers, and advanced healthcare to young people and adults with complex neurodevelopmental conditions and co-occurring mental health disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Apply expert knowledge and evidence-based clinical management principles of cognitive, developmental, neurological, psychiatric, and sensory disabilities for consumers across the lifespan.
2. Deliver senior-level psychological or neuropsychological assessment, formulation, and brief intervention/positive behaviour support planning.
3. Provide expert guidance to service planning and lead the implementation of evidence-based reviews to design best practice.
4. Contribute to clinical governance and professional competence by providing senior-level training and supervision.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A tertiary degree in Psychology
• AHPRA Registration
• Driver's Licence
• Evidence of vaccination, or the ability to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Hepatitis B
• Tuberculosis screening to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (MNH will cover the cost)
