DISCO is looking for a seasoned engineering leader to join as Head of Engineering. We seek a strategic thinker who is passionate about the product, customers, and the problems we solve, and who drives technical excellence and innovation to deliver high-quality products that support the company vision and mission.


Responsibilities
  • Directly supervise engineering managers and, initially, some engineers
  • Partner with the People team to attract and engage top talent
  • Foster an engaged, collaborative, ambitious, and outcome-driven culture
  • Provide continuous feedback, address underperformance, and recognize strengths and contributions
  • Ensure high quality and high velocity execution of the engineering organization
  • Identify, evaluate, and optimize processes to maximize efficiency
  • Unblock the team and push to hit deadlines
  • Anticipate strategic and scaling-related challenges and collaborate on scalable solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners including product, support and GTM
  • Support the GTM organization in serving key customers
  • Partner with product to deliver solutions that keep DISCO ahead of competitors
  • Understand the music tech landscape and its trends to inform buy/build/partner decisions

Requirements
  • Proven leader who has guided high-performance engineering teams through scaling (company size 70-100+, engineering team 20-40+)
  • Strong track record of hiring and developing diverse talent
  • 7+ years of engineering leadership experience, including overseeing an engineering org of 20+
  • Comfortable motivating teams by working with managers and directly with engineers
  • Experience managing hybrid and remote teams across multiple time zones
  • 3+ years of experience overseeing AI/ML product development with successful outcomes
  • Experience delivering and maintaining B2B web apps; consumer-facing product experience preferred
  • Strong sense of urgency to deliver results and inspire the team
  • Ownership and accountability
  • Strong architectural experience
  • Willingness to dive into code when needed
  • Strong technical mastery with commitment to continuous learning
