About the role

This role provides the opportunity to work closely with a higher performing and supportive team and is an integral part in the successful operation of our finance function. This position requires an innovative thinker who is able to consider the bigger picture at all times, whilst ensuring an excellent attention to detail is maintained.

The Senior Finance Officer role includes overseeing debtor invoicing (including funders, clients and tenants), extensive end-of-month reconciliations, ensuring financial compliance, ATO and other external reporting, and will be responsible for complex calculations and general ledger entries.

The Senior Finance Officer is a key support role for the Finance Team Leader and assisting with budget preparation, internal and external auditing and EOFY processes. Working with the Finance Team Leader to ensure continuous and meaningful improvement will be a high priority.

This is a permanent full-time role, working Monday to Friday. Working hours across these days are flexible. The opportunity to negotiate 0.8 FTE is available for the right candidate.

Key selection criteria

Demonstrated relevant experience of a minimum of 2 years working in a complex finance environment.

A thorough understanding of accounting principles and double entry bookkeeping.

Experience driving process improvements by identifying opportunities to automate or simply financial practices and working with relevant stakeholders to implement solutions.
