ICT Security Engineers provide operational and system security management and administrative services.
Job Description:
Security Engineers will be highly organised, dynamic, outcome orientated individuals with excellent communication skills. They will provide operational and system security management and administrative services for complex security issues. They will provide advice and guidance on complex IT system security issues. They will work with business stakeholders, project managers, systems architects, and other groups as required, to define and support solution delivery.
Job Duties and Responsibilities may include:
- Work as a key contributing member of a highly diverse and fast-paced team, supporting existing infrastructure and users.
- Conduct capability and concept development in the context of technical security.
- Undertake/Support security design and implementation activities.
- Deliver verification and validation activities including conducting security certification/accreditation and support activities.
- Develop a schedule of work and report on progress.
Technical Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field.
- At least 5 years' experience as a security engineer or similar role.
- Experience in identifying and/or applying security controls.
- Experience with security controls in cloud computing systems.
Experience with using and administering ICT security applications such as a SIEM (e.g. Arcsight, Splunk), vulnerability management tools, or endpoint protection tools.
RequirementsTechnical Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field.
- At least 5 years' experience as a security engineer or similar role.
- Experience in identifying and/or applying security controls.
- Experience with security controls in cloud computing systems.
Additional Responsibilities:
- SCAD 5 - Security operations: Monitors the application and compliance of security operations procedures. Reviews actual or potential security breaches and vulnerabilities and ensures that they are promptly and thoroughly investigated. Recommends actions and appropriate control improvements.
- SCTY 5 - Information security: Provides advice and guidance on security strategies to manage identified risks and ensure adoption and adherence to standards.
- INAS 5 - Information assurance: Interprets information assurance and security policies and applies these to manage risks.
- PBMG 4 - Problem management: Initiates and monitors actions to investigate and resolve problems in systems, processes, and services.
