We are actively seeking Experienced Underground Auto Electricians to join us in our African Operations on a 6 week on, 3 weeks off roster.
The emphasis of the role is ensuring that the local workers are developing their skills and knowledge by way of sharing your experience and being a role model. You will require boundless energy, resilience, determination, and a genuine interest in working with people from different cultures.
- Carry out scheduled servicing to mobile equipment in a safe manner and in accordance with procedures, regulations, and the service sheet.
- Utilise skill and experience to create minimum downtime on machinery.
- Ensure correct recording and reporting of maintenance is achieved.
- Maintain a high level of housekeeping in workshop and working areas at all times, ensure all parts are kept at minimum stock levels.
- Read and interpret Service and Spare parts manuals.
- Report all equipment faults to the Maintenance Foreman for scheduling into the workshop weekly.
- A demonstrated passion for safety and a proactive attitude toward ensuring that safety is front of mind for all employees at all times.
- A sound knowledge on Sandvik U/G Development/Production Drills and Loaders.
- Experience on Caterpillar Underground Loaders.
- Proven knowledge on remote control systems either RCT or Sandvik.
- Experienced in training less qualified tradespeople to a high standard in a high productivity underground contracting mining environment.
- Strong background working with latest generation underground mobile equipment and associated automation systems.
- At least 5 years post apprenticeship experience working within surface or underground mining industry on large mobile equipment.
- Self-starter who will work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent service and maintenance approach to the job.
- International Driver's License.

A full pre-employment medical is required, including a drug and alcohol test, and site-specific clearances. A National Police Clearance and any necessary tickets or qualifications are required to be presented at time of interview. Please be aware that an array of vaccinations are required when working in Africa.
