Position at DNEG

Working closely with our Head of Animation, Animation Supervisors, and fellow Animators, you will be responsible for creating believable animation with convincing performances and motion. You will have the ability to complete digi-double, creature, character, or rigid body animation. Delivering work to strict deadlines, you will be aware of project schedules and work hard to achieve these goals, producing content within the framework of the DNEG pipeline.

Senior Animator

Must Have

  • 6+ years CG animation experience within high-end live action VFX feature films
  • Ability to perform visual and analytical problem solving in 3-dimensional space, including accurately interpreting 3D layouts and analyzing 3D form
  • Thorough knowledge of Maya
  • Proven experience troubleshooting and predicting potential problems with assigned tasks and issues from other departments
  • Ability to support Leads and Supervisors
  • Experience mentoring junior artists
  • Proven experience proactively finding creative solutions within shot constraints
  • Ability to contribute to pipeline improvements and team methodologies
  • Showreel showcasing a variety of high-end live action VFX animation work, including hero creatures, digi-doubles, and detailed performances with flying, bipedal, vehicle, and motion capture

Nice to Have

  • Experience with realistic and stylized facial animation
  • Tool development using Python or MEL
  • Experience shooting Mocap material with Moven Mocap suit
