We are seeking to establish a pool of Home Economics teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Role and responsibilities
  • Teach Technologies – Food Science and Technology (General Food Science and Technology and related courses, as applicable).
  • Deliver engaging lessons that foster curiosity and a love of learning while maintaining high standards of classroom management and restorative practices.
  • Contribute to a school culture focused on student engagement, belonging, safety, and inclusivity.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop teaching strategies, resources, and approaches that enable all students to reach their potential.
  • Demonstrate adaptability, resilience and a willingness to actively share and collaborate within a community of teachers.
  • Participate in the school's Instructional Model and Coaching program to support evidence-based practices.
Qualifications and qualities
  • Strong belief that every student is capable of successful learning and a commitment to effective teaching practices and ongoing improvement.
  • Excellent knowledge of the West Australian Curriculum and the ability to deliver content in an engaging manner.
  • Ability to teach courses such as General Food Science and Technology and related Design and Technologies subjects; ability to demonstrate how to provide educational opportunities that enable student achievement.
  • Experience using a range of teaching strategies, effective classroom management, and restorative practices.
  • Growth mindset and alignment with the school's Instructional Model; willingness to participate in Instructional Coaching.
  • Collaborative experience with diverse school teams.

Eligibility
  • Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with work rights for the term of the appointment.
  • Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start; and
  • Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
