Role Description/Criteria: Classroom Teacher Position (Contract). At St Joseph's, we are proud of our strong team culture, where staff feel supported, valued, and motivated to achieve their best. We are seeking a skilled and innovative classroom teacher to join our school in 2026. Graduates are welcome to apply. Commencement: 27 January 2026.

Applicants should demonstrate:

  • a commitment to evidence-based best practices, with experience in or capacity to enact explicit and direct instruction approaches/strategies
  • an understanding of Structured Literacy
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an eagerness to learn and grow within a collaborative team environment
  • the ability to use student assessment information to inform whole-class and targeted small group instruction
  • the ability to promote student wellbeing and engagement
  • the capacity to build and maintain professional, respectful, and caring relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • a firm commitment to Catholic education
  • familiarity with and adherence to the school's child-safe policy and code of conduct, as well as all other policies relating to child safety
Special Requirements
  • accreditation to teach in a Catholic school, or a willingness to obtain accreditation to teach Religion in a Catholic school
  • current VIT registration (or eligibility for graduates)
