Information Technology Asset Manager

Duco is seeking an IT Asset Manager to support one of our biggest clients in the manufacturing sector.

• Plan and manage equipment refresh activities to align with evolving business and operational requirements.
• Coordinate and implement hardware refresh cycles, ensuring minimal impact on service delivery.
• Monitor and control the progress of refresh activities, identify risks or delays, and initiate corrective actions as needed.
• Maintain and update the asset register, and track and record hardware movements across all locations.
• Establish and manage effective relationships with hardware suppliers and service providers to support asset lifecycle needs.
• Monitor and evaluate vendor performance, and resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or contractual compliance.
• Develop, document, and implement IT asset management policies and procedures in alignment with organisational goals.
• Ensure asset management practices comply with internal standards, regulatory obligations, and audit requirements.
• Review and improve asset management processes on an ongoing basis to enhance operational efficiency.
• Promote and communicate asset management policies and best practices across the organisation to drive awareness and adoption.
• Maintain compliance with software licensing agreements and coordinate internal software audits.
• Produce and distribute regular reports on asset utilisation, lifecycle status, refresh schedules, and budget performance.
• Analyse and interpret asset data to provide insights that support IT and business decision-making.
• Provide guidance and support to team members involved in asset management and hardware refresh activities.
• Deliver training and provide guidance to IT staff and stakeholders on asset management processes, tools, and best practices.
• Facilitate discussions and collaborate with stakeholders to align objectives, clarify expectations, and resolve conflicts.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with internal teams, senior leaders, and external vendors to support effective asset management.

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
• Any post-graduate qualifications or relevant certifications (desirable).
• IT Asset Management: Extensive experience in managing IT asset lifecycles, from procurement through to retirement.
• Project Management: Strong skills in managing hardware refresh cycles and coordinating cross-functional teams.
• Vendor Management: Proven experience negotiating with vendors and managing service contracts to achieve favourable outcomes.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
• Policy Development: Experience in developing, enforcing, and continuously improving asset management policies and procedures.
• Budgeting and Financial Management: Solid understanding of budget control for IT assets and experience in managing budgets in line with business needs.
