Overview

Year 4 Class Teacher (Maternity Leave Cover) — Full-Time, Term 1 & 2, 2026 with potential extension. Based in Bentley, Western Australia.

Al-Hidayah Islamic School, established in 1994, is a K–6 independent Islamic primary school that provides high-quality education grounded in the Qur'an and Sunnah and aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum.

We invite applications from passionate educators committed to supporting the academic, spiritual, and emotional growth of every child. This maternity leave cover is for a Year 4 class and runs across Semester One of the 2026 school year, with potential for extension.

We seek a candidate who embraces a holistic, child-centred approach to learning, is curious and inquiry-driven, and can collaborate with families and colleagues. The successful applicant will join a school that values professional growth and reflective practice through an Islamic lens.

Responsibilities
  • Support and uphold the Islamic vision and ethos of the school.
  • Deliver instruction aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum.
  • Embrace inquiry-based and play-based pedagogies.
  • Foster an inclusive, engaging, and respectful classroom environment.
  • Demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Teach fluently in English and effectively manage classroom learning.
Selection Criteria
  • Proven experience in best practices for teaching primary-aged students.
  • Strong knowledge of literacy and numeracy in the middle primary years.
  • Ability to differentiate learning to meet diverse needs.
  • Confident in using ICT to support student learning.
  • Innovative, adaptable, and committed to reflective practice.

  • Copy of recognised teaching qualification (minimum four-year tertiary qualification or equivalent).
  • Current TRBWA registration.
  • Proof of Australian citizenship or valid working rights.
