About the Role:

As the Derivatives Manager, you will be pivotal in managing Exchange Traded Options (ETO) operations. We are seeking a highly skilled professional with deep expertise in the derivatives market and strong interpersonal abilities. This position provides an opportunity to elevate your career within a leading stockbroking and wealth management firm.

This is a specialist role responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of options trading, ensuring accurate pricing, smooth execution, and proper risk management for all options-related client orders, acting as a bridge between the front office (sales and trading) and back office (settlement and clearing).

This is a hands-on role where you will be leading a small team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor daily trading risk, post-trade performance, and compliance protocols.
  • Provide internal trading support and oversight to advisers, ensuring smooth operational processes.
  • Monitor trading behaviour across the firm, and escalate unusual trading activity, complex risk strategies or risk breaches, to management and compliance teams.
  • Oversee Short-Term Exposure Limit (STEL) & Cash Market Margining (CMM)
  • Ensure seamless integration between front and back-office systems, coordinating with middle and back-office teams on trade settlement and position reconciliation.
  • Facilitate the onboarding of new clients and manage documentation requirements effectively.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in financial markets, particularly in derivatives trading and operations.
  • Strong understanding of ETO derivative products; international ETO trading experience is advantageous.
  • Relevant derivatives accreditation (e.g., ADA1 and ADA2) is preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of CHESS, ASX settlement systems, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Familiarity with tools such as IRESS, TCRisk, or Tradefloor is strongly preferred.

Benefits for You:

  • Lead a specialist middle office team, responsible for ensuring operations efficiency and accuracy in the options trading process.
  • Benefit from opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • Be part of a firm that has a proven track record of client satisfaction and a strong working culture.

If you are ready to take the next step in your career and have expertise in derivatives trading and operations, please apply now. Submit your CV via the APPLY button or for more information, reach out to francesca@keeganadams.com.au, or 0482070036.
