Key Accountabilities Of The Role
- Full-Stack Development - Design, develop, and deliver end-to-end working software solutions across the full stack, adhering to established development standards.
- Code Quality and Best Practices - Ensure high-quality code through thorough code reviews, comprehensive automated testing, and adherence to continuous integration practices, maintaining optimal code coverage.
- Innovation and Continuous Improvement - Drive innovation by identifying opportunities to enhance existing systems, processes, and technologies, fostering a culture of improvement and problem solving.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders - Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions that align with strategic goals and deliver value.
- Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing - Provide mentorship and support to junior developers by sharing expertise, conducting code reviews, and engaging in collaborative programming practices.
- Professional Growth - Actively enhance domain knowledge and technical skills through ongoing professional development and learning initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Of The Role
- Actively engage in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, contributing to team alignment and collaboration.
- Complete assigned development tasks on schedule, ensuring alignment with project priorities and deadlines.
- Identify and escalate blockers or issues associated with tasks early to minimize disruptions and maintain project momentum.
- Develop clean, maintainable code while consistently improving code quality and test coverage through rigorous testing and adherence to best practices.
- Conduct thorough code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers to enhance overall team performance and technical excellence.
- Ensure technical documentation is updated and accurate as needed, supporting knowledge sharing and system maintainability.
Key Requirements For The Role
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to explain complex technical problems to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
- Advanced proficiency in C# and .NET.
- Expertise in both back-end and front-end development, specifically with C# and JavaScript.
- Proficient in unit testing with experience applying Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices to ensure software quality.
- Strong knowledge of database design, optimization, and management, with experience using relational databases such as PostgreSQL and SQL Server.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining web development frameworks or SaaS applications. A minimum of 5 years of commercial software development experience across back-end and front-end environments.
Nice To Have
- Proven ability to design robust and scalable technical solutions for complex business challenges.
- MVC experience.
- Familiarity with containerised environments using Docker.
- Solid skills in software version control and collaboration using Git and GitHub/GitHub Actions.
- Proficiency in CSS, specifically Bootstrap.
- Hands-on experience working within Agile teams using tools like GitHub and JIRA for collaboration and workflow management.
- Proven track record in deploying and managing systems in containerised environments with Docker.
