Launceston General Hospital (LGH) is one of Tasmania's major public hospitals, providing comprehensive healthcare services to the northern region of the state.Working across the LGH Facility and surrounding precinct the Painting team members are responsible for maintaining Plant and Buildings, both interior and exterior using a variety of methods and equipment, Car Park Line marking and Signage and assisting other staff as required in the day-to-day operations of the Facilities and Engineering Department.

The Role:
As an effective member of the LGH Facilities and Engineering Team the successful applicant will report to the Trade Manager (Painting and Decorating)responsible for the maintenance and minor works painting of plant and buildings within the Department's area of responsibility.
You will need:
- At the direction of Trade Manager, prepare, paint and maintain plant and buildings, both interior and exterior, using a variety of painting tools and equipment, Maintain Carpark Line marking and Signage and perform work in the design and production of signs and notices as directed.
- Erect aluminium mobile scaffolding to interior and exterior as required including maintaining to universal standards industrial painting of plant and equipment. Follow sterile procedures when performing duties in specialised areas such as Operating Room Suite.
- In consultation with supervisory staff design, implement and review programmed maintenance schedules.

Details of appointment:
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary:$73,811 to $79,779 per annum.Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

For the purpose of the previous section the "relevant trades qualification" is - Minimum Certificate III Painting and Decorating.

It is the employee's responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.
