About the Role
This is a Permanent Full-Time position within the Operating Theatres department for a Grade 2 to 3 Operating Theatre Technician.
As an Operating Theatre Technician, you will be a valued member of our healthcare team, providing support for patients, families, and guardians under the guidance of nursing, anesthetic, and surgical staff. Your responsibilities include preparing the theatre environment, transporting patients and equipment, patient positioning, and maintaining theatre equipment and environment.
What you'll achieve :
- Ensure adherence to OH&S and infection control principles in all work practices.
- Contribute to a multidisciplinary team environment, maintaining flexibility across all specialised areas of the operating suite.
- Test, use, and maintain surgical equipment and technology within your responsibility.
- Prepare and maintain the operating room environment for safe and efficient surgeries and procedures.
Your skills and experience :
- Demonstrated experience as a theatre technician.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certificate 3 in health services assistance Operating Theatre Technician.
- Certificate 4 in health services assistance Operating Theatre Technician (highly desirable).
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
