Tasmania, Australia Buscojobs Full time

An exciting opportunity exists for a psychologist to join our team in Psychology Services at the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH). Tasmania offers a unique culture and lifestyle, with a strong sense of community and belonging. Say goodbye to lengthy commutes and enjoy breath-taking coastlines, National Parks, and fresh local produce, all within close proximity to your workplace.

Our relatively small hospital enables you to develop a strong understanding of your patients and see the difference you make, while still providing opportunities for career progression, diverse work, and specialization development. The slower-paced lifestyle promotes mindful practice and meaningful work.

As the largest hospital and major triage centre in the state, RHH sees a wide range of clinical populations, offering diversity and rapid broadening of clinical knowledge. This role is particularly beneficial for early career clinicians. Our geographical isolation has fostered a culture of innovation, resourcefulness, and collaboration, giving you the chance to shape the future of healthcare in Tasmania.

The Team :

You will be part of the RHH Psychology Services team, which includes clinical psychologists, neuropsychologists, and health psychologists working across inpatient and outpatient settings. We are a dynamic, high-achieving group of clinicians passionate about our work and community. You will also collaborate with a dedicated team of Allied Health Professionals in a supportive, evidence-based, and growth-oriented environment.

Our Offerings :

  • Professional development support, peer review, and clinical supervision, including for new graduates and registrars.
  • Mentoring and leadership from experienced psychology and allied health professionals.
  • Opportunities for rotations across different clinical areas.

The Role :

As a Clinical Neuropsychologist / Registrar, you will conduct evidence-based assessments for patients at RHH, working in outpatient and inpatient settings with individuals with acquired brain injuries, neurological, and neurodegenerative conditions. The role involves diagnosis, monitoring, brief interventions, and providing recommendations for treatment and support.

This position is suitable for experienced neuropsychologists, registrars, or recent graduates eager to develop their skills. Support, mentoring, and supervision are available to facilitate your transition into the role.

Please contact us to discuss how this opportunity aligns with your career goals, priorities, and work-life balance. We offer flexible working arrangements.

Details of Appointment :

Permanent part-time position (22.8 hours per fortnight) or fixed-term part-time (38 hours per fortnight) for 6 months, both commencing as soon as possible. Hours are negotiable.

Salary :

$110,425 - $121,907 pro-rata per annum + 12% superannuation. Benefits include salary packaging options, living expenses up to $9,010, meal entertainment allowance, and other benefits.

Additional allowances may include :

  • Professional Development Allowance up to $1,000 annually.

Access to salaries beyond $119,290 depends on qualifications and application to the personal upgrade scheme. Salary is aligned with the Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022.
