Position Overview

Are you passionate about the beach, love helping others, and thrive outdoors? We are seeking enthusiastic and dependable lifeguards to patrol 17 beaches across Wollongong. We welcome applicants of all experience levels; what matters most is your enthusiasm, reliability, and dedication to safety in a supportive team environment.

Role Responsibilities
  1. Proactive beach patrols to identify and mitigate risks.
  2. Providing friendly, community-focused service with positive communication.
  3. Maintaining physical readiness to handle demanding lifeguarding tasks.
  4. Working collaboratively with team members and remaining adaptable across multiple locations, including weekends and evenings.
Qualifications & Certifications

Required Certifications include:

  • Certificate III in Public Safety (Aquatic Search & Rescue) (Level 2)
  • Certificate II in Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue) (Level 1)
  • Current NSW Working With Children Check
  • Current First Aid Statement of Attainment
  • Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy (HLTAID015)

Positions start from $38-$40 per hour plus casual loading.

What You'll Do

As a lifeguard, you will:

  • Ensure beach safety through vigilant patrols and incident responses.
  • Deliver Surf Education sessions to empower beachgoers.
  • Manage daily operations at your assigned beach, including equipment and facilities.
  • Provide friendly advice and top-tier customer service, with the ability to respond calmly in emergencies.
  • Follow safety protocols to ensure a secure environment for all.
  • Complete operational reports to maintain safety and service standards.
