About The Role
As a Services Officer, you're not just a member of the Customer Group; you're the face of V/Line, ensuring every journey is safe, smooth, and enjoyable for our passengers onboard the train. Your role is crucial in delivering top-notch customer service and maintaining high standards on our regional trains across Victoria.
By showcasing your initiative and knowledge of V/Line policies, you'll ensure the safety and satisfaction of our passengers, contributing to V/Line's success and revenue protection.
This is an ongoing, part time position featuring a rotating roster. Due to the operational nature of our services, you will work on a 24/7 roster.
Depending on scheduling and business needs, you may be required to sign on and work at various stations along the Castlemaine line within 80km of your Home Depot.
Key Accountabilities include:
- Be the go-to person for passengers, providing assistance and information to customers face to face, and via a PA system
- Ensure trains are ready for service, from cleanliness to functionality
- Handle ticket sales, checking tickets, and provide fare advice during train services.
- Support station operations including ticket sales
- Ensure the station is opened and closed in accordance with operational and security proceduresManage coaches during planned and unplanned disruptions and events
- Manage and report any equipment or facility issues
- Communication of service changes, coach coordination
- The role is highly autonomous therefore you'll possess a level of maturity, previous success in operating in a safety and time critical environment and an absolute commitment to providing superior customer service.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Completion of Year 10 or equivalent
- Valid Victorian Driver's License
- 24/7 availability for shift work
- Cash handling
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work within rules and compliance frameworks
- Friendly customer service skills
- Strong safety awareness
- Availability to complete 4-6 weeks training in Melbourne (Mon-Fri)
