Our Wilpinjong Mine is currently seeking a HSE & Compliance Manager to provide planning and leadership to the Compliance Department (HST, Environment & Communities, Project Development & Approvals). The role involves ensuring effective service and support to site operations and fostering productive engagement with internal and external stakeholders.

Key duties include:

  • Leading mine support functions (Health, Safety, Training, Environment, Biodiversity, Community, Property, Project Development, and Approvals) to support safe and productive operations and maintain the license to operate.
  • Maximizing organizational efficiency through cross-function support and integrated roles.
  • Maintaining and improving the site's Compliance Management System, including standards, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Overseeing risk management and training systems.
  • Managing compliance verification processes and calendars.
  • Monitoring industry and legal developments to ensure timely and compliant operational changes.
  • Fostering collaborative relations with senior leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Supporting project development through engagement with study groups.

This position is on a Monday to Friday roster, with one RDO per month. It offers a residential lifestyle in Mudgee or surrounding areas, promoting work-life balance and community engagement.

About You:

  • Minimum fifteen years of mining operational experience.
  • Qualifications in a compliance-related field; mining or engineering qualifications preferred.
  • NSW statutory mining qualifications preferred.
  • Knowledge of NSW Coal Mines Compliance requirements including health, safety, environment, water, and approvals.
  • Experience interacting with NSW Government Regulatory Institutions.
  • Extensive exposure to OC coal mining practices and management.
