The Opportunity
The Spatial team at Urbis is seeking a motivated and dynamic Assistant Spatial Analyst for a 12-month parental leave cover role based in Brisbane. In this position, you\'ll work closely with our consulting teams to deliver high-quality GIS services across a wide range of projects for both Urbis and Cistri. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals with 1–3 years of industry experience who are eager to collaborate with leading experts and fast-track their geospatial career.
You Will
- Collaborate with consulting staff to highlight the benefits of GIS analysis for client outcomes.
- Create visually appealing maps that adhere to corporate branding and client requirements.
- Support geo-processing tasks, including complex spatial queries for map display and data extraction.
- Demonstrate strong cartographic skills and contribute to the review of Urbis map templates and styles.
- Assist in data creation, maintenance, and geocoding for project-specific and corporate spatial data needs.
- Ensure consistency and quality of GIS products delivered to the wider business.
About You
- Has a tertiary qualification in Geographic Information Systems (or equivalent)
- Working knowledge of ESRI\'s ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS and A.G.O.L as well as the Microsoft desktop suite
- Experience with a wide variety of spatial data types, including their creation and maintenance
- Knowledge of good cartographic practice that you can actively deliver
