Job Description

Reporting to the Analytics Engagement Lead, you will support the utilisation of data and analytics to inform insights that support decision making and drive actionable outcomes for the Group (JB Hi-Fi & The Good Guys). This is a Mid level position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to understand data and reporting requirements, opportunities, and resolve intermediate to complex problems.
  • Develop and maintain high quality qualitative and quantitative analysis and reporting.
  • Apply and demonstrate the required level of testing of reporting and analytic solutions.
  • Contribute to increasing self-service capability of insights with Data Citizens.
  • Collaborate with the business to envision and embrace opportunities for utilizing advanced analytics or AI to enhance efficiencies and predictions.
  • Identify opportunities to increase data quality and currency of business data.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities related to the data lifecycle, data visualization, and reporting principles.
  • Support the review and quality assurance of team members solutions to business requirements.
  • Contribute to data governance and management standards, collection of metadata, and classification of critical data elements within the governance catalogue.
  • Contribute to the delivery of Data Literacy to enable business users to read and work with data effectively.
  • Provide operational support of existing Business Intelligence solutions, ensuring SLAs are met.
Qualifications
  • A tertiary level qualification in IT, Computer Science, Business, Finance, or related field and/or equivalent combination of relevant experience (3+ years).
  • Working knowledge of modern data architectures, reporting and business intelligence platforms.
  • Working knowledge of operational and analytical data architectures, governance, and ethics.
  • Intermediate experience with SQL, Python and R for exploratory and statistical analysis.
  • Experience in developing data visualisations and paginated reporting solutions within Power BI.
  • Exposure to data cleaning, enrichment, and data quality activities including metadata provisioning.
  • Exposure to Data-Ops enabling technologies and design methodologies including version control, CI/CD and automation of test plans.
