Launch your plumbing career with North Queensland Bulk Ports Corporation (NQBP) and earn while you learn in a unique setting right on the waterfront at the Port of Mackay.

As an Apprentice Plumber with us, you'll develop real skills in maintaining vital water and wastewater systems while gaining valuable experience in the global maritime industry.

This is a rare opportunity as our apprenticeship intake happens only once every four years giving you the support you deserve.

This four-year apprenticeship is hands-on, practical and designed to set you up for a real career as a qualified plumber. You'll work alongside experienced plumbers to help keep the Port of Mackay's water and wastewater systems safe and in top working condition, supporting a major hub for Queensland's trade.

Based right on the waterfront, you'll be part of a friendly and safety-focused team that will support and mentor you every step of the way. You'll also study at CQUniversity to complete your trade certificate, combining real-world experience with formal learning to kickstart your plumbing career.

• In house training program working with highly experienced and supportive mentors.
• 9-day fortnight (every second Friday off).
• 12.75% superannuation.
• Receive access to additional training (First Aid, Forklift Licence, Telehandler, Working at Heights and Confined Space).

• Upcoming school leavers completing Grade 12 in 2025 with minimum sound results in both English and Mathematics.
• The applicant will be required to hold a current Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) or the ability to obtain a MSIC within three months of commencing employment.
• Willingness to provide high quality labouring services in maintenance and construction environment following established systems and procedures.
• A commitment to the importance of high-quality client service and an ability to provide friendly and courteous service and information.
