Overview

HTN - Hospitality Training Network is seeking 4x passionate and dedicated Apprentice Chefs for Junior Chef Apprenticeship - 1st / 2nd / 3rd Year - Sports Club. These positions are open to applicants kick-starting their culinary career or continuing an apprenticeship to develop practical skills. You will earn a nationally recognised certification that can take you around the world.

Location

4 exciting opportunities across different venues within the Club, learning different cuisines:

  • Rooftop bar with a Mediterranean-inspired menu (food to share, small plates/tapas, desserts; includes woodfire cooking and traditional methods).
  • LA PIAZZA – Large Italian restaurant (hand-stretched pizza, pasta, seafood; high-volume, fast-paced environment; open 7 days for lunch and dinner).
  • MARROW & Co – Classic Manhattan-style steakhouse with onsite dry aging and multiple signature dishes; traditional European techniques.
  • GREENFIELD BISTRO – Classic bistro with Western and Asian influences; house-made products and weekly specials.

What's Involved

As an Apprentice Chef, you will be employed by HTN and hosted to our host employer, learning from qualified Chefs in all aspects of food preparation and presentation. You will work at one of our host venues, handling large quantities of food and seasonal ingredients. Key activities include:

  • Food Preparation – chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, measuring ingredients.
  • Cooking – following recipes to prepare a variety of dishes (meats, fish, vegetables, desserts).
  • Kitchen Maintenance – cleaning and maintaining equipment, utensils, and surfaces.
  • Food Safety – ensuring food safety regulations and hygiene standards are maintained.
  • Learning and Development – completing required training modules and seeking guidance from chefs.
  • Teamwork – collaborating with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and high quality.
Wage

Award Wages Apply.

Eligibility (NSW)
  • Australian Citizenship
  • Australian Permanent Residency
  • New Zealand Passport Holder residing in Australia for more than six months
