Freyssinet Australia are looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our VIC Remedial Division based in Melbourne.

As a Project Engineer, you will be accountable for managing allocated projects to ensure zero harm, quality, on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, and profitability. This position will be directing the performance of work, resources, and activities on site and will report to the VIC Remedial Construction Manager.

The ideal applicant will come with/from a background of:

  1. Experience on T1 – T3 Civil & Remedial Projects as a SE or PE (MUST have exposure to repairs/remediation works within bridges or structures).
  2. Strong Forecasting, budgeting, Subcontract Management experience.
  3. At least 5 years' experience as a Project Engineer working on Civil repair/remediation projects.
  4. Experience with bridge strengthening would be highly advantageous.

Primary Accountabilities

  1. The development, review, and management of projects, encompassing all elements of project delivery including OH&S, Quality & Environment, Cost control and client/consultant relationships.
  2. Proactive site leadership and management of safety performance, standards, and risk.
  3. Quality management on a day-to-day basis as well as development of quality procedures according to the specification of the project and Australian Standards, implementation on site, design review, and updates.
  4. Provide technical advice with problem-solving skills.
  5. Establish and maintain project cost control, inclusive of a focus on labour utilization and efficiency.
  6. Build effective relationships with clients and manage day-to-day interactions.
  7. Accurate preparation of various monthly reporting, progress claims, and sub-contractor statement.
  8. Procurement and management of sub-contractors and material suppliers.
  9. Administration of contracts, management of commercial risk in accordance with the DOA.

Qualifications / Experience

  1. Degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
  2. Minimum 3-5 years' Project or Site Engineer experience in the civil/construction industry.
  3. Remedial or Concrete/Steel repair & re-strengthening experience (Preferred).
  4. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite programs.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
