The Client

Caresiah is a disability services and support organization located in Smythesdale, Victoria, Australia. They are seeking a Human Resource Advisor to join their team.

The Role

This is a full-time position offering an annual salary of $75,000 to $85,000, based at their Brooke Street location in Smythesdale, VIC.

The Responsibilities
  • Offer guidance and support to leadership on workplace relations, policies, employee performance, and disciplinary matters.
  • Organize onboarding for new employees and provide details on employment conditions, compensation, and career growth opportunities.
  • Coordinate job postings, conduct interviews and assessments, and select suitable candidates.
  • Collect and document job vacancy details, including specifications, salary, and employment terms.
  • Lead negotiations on employment terms and resolve workplace conflicts and grievances.
  • Analyze and interpret labor laws, regulations, employment contracts, and dispute resolution procedures.
  • Develop and implement enterprise or collective agreements, including performance-based compensation and workplace policies.
  • Manage employee records and oversee HR information systems.
  • Coordinate staff training and professional development programs.
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback.
  • Disseminate information about available positions to both employers and candidates.
  • Advise on occupational health and safety standards and ensure compliance.
  • Supervise the establishment of employee consultative committees and engagement initiatives.
  • Lead initiatives promoting employee engagement, diversity, inclusion, and continuous learning.
The Requirements
  • At least a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of Australian employment laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in HR software and systems (e.g., HRIS, ATS) is desirable.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in human resources within a corporate setting.
  • Experience with HR information systems and maintaining personnel records.
  • Experience with job advertising platforms and applicant tracking systems.
  • Knowledge of workplace relations legislation, awards, and employment contracts.
  • Experience conducting staff inductions and providing employment information.
  • Skills in negotiating employment terms and resolving disputes.
  • Experience developing and implementing HR policies, procedures, and enterprise agreements.
  • Ability to achieve results through consultation, negotiation, advice, and facilitation.
  • Demonstrated initiative and a commitment to continuous improvement, focusing on business and people.
