Technical Project Manager (TPM) – Daon (Sydney, Melbourne, or Canberra)

Daon is seeking a Technical Project Manager (TPM) with a strong background in enterprise web solutions and a desire to apply their skills to cutting-edge identity technologies. This role focuses on delivering TrustX and IdentityX implementations using Daon's proprietary technology stack. You'll be responsible for ensuring successful project delivery—on time and within budget—while managing cross-functional collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.

Location: Sydney, Melbourne, or Canberra

About the Role

As a TPM at Daon, you'll work under the direction of the Director of Professional Services and play a hands-on role in project execution. You will coordinate and lead complex deployments, manage client expectations, and drive delivery excellence. You'll be expected to operate autonomously, while also collaborating closely with Professional Services teams, engineers, and customers.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for assigned customer projects.
  • Translate customer requirements into actionable deliverables and ensure contractual obligations are met.
  • Coordinate efforts across Daon's internal teams, including Professional Services, DevOps, Product, Support, Engineering, and Sales.
  • Engage with various customer stakeholders, from technical teams to business owners and compliance managers.
  • Lead design and implementation planning for TrustX and IdentityX solutions.
  • Create and maintain high-level design documentation, meeting notes, project/resource plans, and decision logs.
  • Ensure the quality of all documentation deliverables.
  • Monitor and manage contract tracking and billing.
  • Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies to both customers and internal leadership.
  • Provide timely, clear communication across internal and external channels.
  • Perform other duties as required, in line with evolving business needs.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5–7+ years of relevant technical project management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of modern SDLC technologies and environments including:
  • Python, Java, JavaScript
  • Frameworks like React, Vue, or Angular
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • AWS infrastructure
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git or SVN.
  • Solid understanding of enterprise systems integration, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and security.

Desired - Demonstrated Skills in:

  • Commercial (IT) project management, including contract management and SLA compliance
  • Working knowledge of cloud-based platforms such as AWS
  • Experience in information security, biometrics, Public Key Infrastructure
  • BPMN and Business Process Modelling.
  • Image Processing and Capture systems.
