Overview

Senior Civil Design Engineer - Wollongong role at Illawarra Mercury. Based in Wollongong with the opportunity for remote working. You will be involved in all aspects of concept and detailed civil design and documentation on a diverse range of projects, taking responsibility for your projects and expanding your portfolio.


Responsibilities
  • Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders as necessary
  • Ensure successful delivery of projects
  • Produce, review and check designs in accordance with relevant design standards and codes
  • Deliver design calculations, reports and drawings under limited supervision
  • Provide civil engineering design service to clients as necessary
  • Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Prepare project briefs, scopes of work and fees
  • Mentor junior team members

Qualifications and Experience
  • Engineering degree in civil engineering
  • Ideally a minimum 5 years post-graduate engineering consultancy experience
  • A self-motivated, technically competent individual able to work independently but also comfortable in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills
  • Familiarity with or experience using our preferred software packages: DRAINS, MUSIC, AutoCAD and AutoTrack
  • Road design in accordance with Austroads and best practice. Geometric design and pavement engineering
  • 12d experience is highly desired
  • Monthly Accrued Days Off and a flexible hybrid working environment
