Tasmanian Health Service – North (Launceston General Hospital)
To be Tasmanian is to value quality over quantity. We create, preserve, and protect the unusual. With quiet confidence, with passion and perseverance, we pursue the extraordinary. Could you be Tasmanian?
You've paired a diverse clinical skillset with leadership nous. And you could put this into place anywhere. What's different about Tasmania is our culture and our lifestyle. Here you will be encouraged to be yourself, to learn, to grow and to develop meaning in your work. You will have a powerful connection to your patients, you will influence decision making within a vital service, and the community will encourage your success. Our isolation helps drive a culture of creation and human connection, which feels both old fashioned and… like the only future worth pursuing.
Be welcomed and encouraged in a dynamic team of 80 staff members.
Here you'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to breath-taking coastlines, National Parks, and incredible fresh produce crafted by locals. After a hard day at work, you don't sit in traffic for an hour. You're decompressing with a wander through our beautiful city, on putting on your boots and telling it to a mountain, within minutes.
We offer an exciting and rewarding place to work, featuring contemporary, evidence-informed practise that sees our Physiotherapists closely linked to the broader multidisciplinary team. We are a team of some 80 staff, a mix of passionate locals and new Tasmanian adventurers who will welcome your energy and experiences into the group dynamic. Here, you can work and learn alongside highly accomplished Physios like John Cannell, Ianthe Boden and Jane Lockstone, while making a difference to the lives of a diverse and inclusive community.
This important role will see you working within our Physiotherapy Neuro-Rehabilitation team, and collaborating closely with the Community Occupational Therapy team. You will be looked toward to provide tailored, goals-based care to some of our most vulnerable community members, helping them to resume and maintain meaningful lives outside of hospital, within the communities that they love. And we'll be committed to seeing you thrive. We'll look after you from the very beginning, ensuring you are fully welcomed into our team and culture. As an Allied Health group, we are dedicated to the development of our people and will work to help you to achieve your goals. Guy McLachlan moved here from interstate to take on a Senior Physiotherapy role in 2023. He would be most happy to hear from you to answer questions about his journey to Tasmania, and how he finds working in our health service and physio team:
