Destec is a diversified mining contractor with a growing client base, providing ore crushing, screening, and materials handling services to the mining industry.

We pride ourselves on innovation through designing, constructing, building, maintaining, and operating our own crushing and screening plants for Tier 1 mining sites. Additionally, we offer ore processing and materials handling services across Western Australia.

About the role

We are seeking experienced Boilermakers / Welders to join our workshop team, with opportunities to assist on occasion with FIFO shutdowns at mine sites and provide site coverage (paid at 12 hours per day).

Our workshop is currently based in Canning Vale, relocating to Bibra Lake in mid-September.

Hours: Monday to Friday (10 hours), Saturday (6 hours) — 56 hours/week

Rates: Full Time + Leave Entitlements

  • Ordinary Time: $43.00
  • Time & Half: $64.50
  • Double Time: $86.00

To be successful in this role, you will have

  • An appropriate Australian recognised trade certificate
  • Ability to pass weld tests in various positions and materials (details specified)
  • Experience with fixed plant components (highly desirable)
  • WA Drivers Licence
  • Ability to interpret drawings and instructions
  • Analytical and team-oriented approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening
  • Ability to provide a national police clearance

Preferred but not essential:

  • First Aid or Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Working at Heights
  • Confined Space Entry
  • Elevated Work Platform competency
  • Dogging & Rigging competency
