Your Role:
EF Brisbane is looking for amazing people to work as live-in Residence Assistants in our Residence
Student One – Adelaide Street.
As a Residence Assistant, you will work 20 hours per week and receive free accommodation.
These hours are flexibly filled in according to business needs and must include availability on weekends.
Depending on the time of year, there might be extra hours available on an hourly paid
basis.

Your main job is to ensure that the residence feels like a 'home away from home' for
international students. Below you can find a list of some of the duties you can expect.

The duties as a Residence Assistant include:

  1. Checking that rooms are ready, clean, and available for arriving students
  2. Meeting & greeting new students on arrival
  3. Assisting with checking in & taking students to rooms
  4. Informing arriving students about rules and fines (community standards)
  5. Regularly checking rooms to ensure facilities are in good condition & well maintained & cleaned
  6. Ensuring that reported maintenance issues are dealt with efficiently by residence staff
  7. Assisting students with problems
  8. Ensuring that residence rules are adhered to and reporting all issues to the residence manager
  9. Liaising with staff responsible about any issues or problems
  10. Organising and partaking in weekly activities
  11. Running activities at the residence
  12. Reminding departing students of leaving date & procedures

All applicants are welcome, and we think this role is extremely suitable for mature university
students and young professionals who have lots of travel and life experience and who are looking to
save on their accommodation while providing 5-star service and guidance to our students.

Requirements:

  1. Highly motivated, energetic, and positive with a sociable and outgoing personality
  2. Must hold a student visa and not be an English language student
  3. Available during the weekend
  4. Friendly and approachable manner
  5. A flexible approach to work and hours of work undertaken is essential.
