About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Qualified Welder/Fabricator/Fitter to join our team at Plastec Australia in Caloundra, Queensland. This full-time role will involve utilising your expertise in welding, fabricating and fitting to contribute to the success of our dynamic organisation.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Qualified Welder/Fabricator/Fitter to join our team at Plastec Australia in Caloundra, Queensland. This full-time role will involve utilising your expertise in welding, fabricating and fitting to contribute to the success of our dynamic organisation.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Perform a variety of welding, fabrication and fitting tasks for production tooling and plant infrastructure to a high standard
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and work orders to complete projects on time and to specification
  • Supporting the maintenance and servicing of injection moulding machines (160T to 5500T) and ancillary equipment (such as material handling systems, dryers, chillers, robots, conveyors).
  • Collaborate with the production and development teams to conduct regular inspections, to troubleshoot issues and identify opportunities to maximise process improvement across multiple departments
  • Play a key role in setting up and maintaining new plant systems and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are well-maintained
  • Adhere to all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures

What We're Looking For
  • Formal trade qualifications in welding, fabrication and/or fitting, with 3+ years' relevant experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Experience maintaining injection moulding or other manufacturing machinery is desirable but not essential.
  • Commitment to quality workmanship and safety
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks across multiple locations.
