A long-established, well-regarded law firm located in Melbourne's eastern suburbs is seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Family Lawyer to take on a key leadership role within its family law practice. About The Role
With a respected senior practitioner approaching retirement, this position has been created to ensure a smooth transition of client relationships and continued excellence in legal service delivery. The role will appeal to a confident, technically sound family lawyer looking to take the next step in a collegiate and values-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse and well-established family law caseload including property, parenting, financial agreements, and intervention orders.
- Provide strategic, empathetic legal advice to clients during sensitive and complex matters.
- Maintain and develop strong client and referrer relationships, ensuring a seamless continuation of service.
- Represent clients in mediations, negotiations, and court proceedings as needed.
- Contribute to practice development and leadership within the firm.
- At least 8 years' post-admission experience (ideally more) with a strong focus on family law.
- Accredited Specialist in Family Law (preferred but not essential).
- Strong client relationship skills, particularly with high-net-worth or complex family matters.
- A natural leader with the ability to mentor others and inspire confidence.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
- Desire to step into a succession pathway with long-term potential.
