Our client is a growing heavy-vehicle repair workshop with modern facilities in Narangba and Caboolture, QLD. The team services and overhauls North-American, Japanese, and European trucks, trailers, and mobile plant for customers across Brisbane's northern corridor.

About the Role

We are looking for a qualified Metal Machinist (First Class) with strong hydraulics knowledge to join our workshop. This role involves working on heavy vehicles, fabricating, repairing, and machining precision components to support overhauls and repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Machine and refurbish components for heavy vehicles, trailers, and mobile plant (e.g., pins, bushes, shafts, and housings).
• Set up and operate manual and CNC lathes, mills, and other machining equipment.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic components (cylinders, pumps, fittings).
• Fabricate custom components for complex repair and modification projects.
• Collaborate with mechanics and fitters to meet specifications for heavy-vehicle repairs.
• Maintain workshop tools and machinery in safe, working order.
• Uphold workshop safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised workspace.

About You:

• Skill Level 3: AQF Certificate III with at least two years of on‑the‑job training, or AQF Certificate IV, or at least three years of relevant experience.
• Practical experience with hydraulics and precision machining.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a commitment to quality work.
• Team-oriented and comfortable in a busy automotive workshop.

For the right candidate, visa sponsorship (subclass 482 or 186) is available. If a skills assessment is required for visa purposes, applicants should be ready to provide this.
