About Scope

Scope is one of Australia's largest providers of disability support services. We have over 70 years' experience supporting people with physical, intellectual, and multiple disability and developmental delays across our supported independent living, short-term accommodation and assistance services as well as our Day and Lifestyle Options.

About The Role
  • To work as a team member of Scope's Social Connections (Day Program) located in Ballarat to support the access and participation of all adults with disabilities within an inclusive environment.
  • Casual position - hours of work are during Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm.
  • Support and empower clients to actively participate in social activities and form meaningful connections in their community. This can include sports and games, art and crafts, field trips, swimming and more
  • Please Note - There is a swimming component as part of the day program for some clients. This position requires individuals who can accompany and support our clients in the water during public swimming sessions at the local community pool on selected days.

Individuals Must Be
  • Comfortable in providing hands on support to the client before, during, and after swim sessions (i.e. changeroom needs, entering and exiting the pool, etc.)
  • Confident in their own swimming skills
  • Able to maintain physical stamina while actively engaging with the client in the water
  • Confident in providing guidance and support to suit clients of various learning styles and abilities
  • Have vigilance and awareness of pool and water safety

Requirements
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check Clearance
  • Working with Children's Check (Employee)
  • Current Level 1 First Aid & CPR Certificate
  • International Police Check if you have lived or worked overseas for more than one (1) year within the last ten years
