About The Opportunity
Step into a pivotal leadership role that sits at the heart of a rapidly expanding district-wide Clinical Trials portfolio, backed by strong executive support and a clear strategic vision. This position offers a rare opportunity to shape clinical trial operations across one of NSW's largest Local Health Districts, championing innovation, quality assurance, and stakeholder engagement. You'll play an integral role in implementing the National Clinical Trials Governance Framework—a defining step for the sector—while leading and coordinating high-quality trials across multiple hospital sites and specialties. By working closely with trial units to develop business plans and align objectives, your contributions will directly elevate governance standards, workforce capability, and reporting excellence.
You'll collaborate with the Executive Director and Project Director of Clinical Trials, as well as a multidisciplinary team including clinical trial coordinators, research nurses, pharmacists, medical specialists, and allied health professionals. District-wide partnerships with Finance, HR, Digital Health, and the Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research add a layer of impact that reaches far beyond the hospital walls. Liaising with NSW Health, OHMR, and broader research networks, your strategic oversight will be matched by hands-on operational leadership. We're seeking a dynamic and experienced professional with deep knowledge of GCP, ethics, and regulatory frameworks—someone who is adaptable, detail-oriented, and driven to make a difference. This full-time role (Monday to Friday, 38 hours/week) is based across SWSLHD sites, with travel required and flexible hybrid arrangements available to support work-life balance.
What You'll Be Doing
This position is responsible for supporting clinical trial units in the development and maintenance of business processes that support clinical trial activity, including finance, human resources, recruitment and workforce development, information management, communication, performance and reporting systems, ensuring all clinical trial activities comply with ICH Good Clinical Practice. Additionally, the position will assist the Executive Director, Clinical Trials and the Project Director, Clinical Trials, in the facilitation of proactively expanding the clinical trial portfolio across each clinical trial unit, in alignment with National Clinical Trials Governance Framework and strategic directions of SWSLHD and NSW Health.
