THE ROLE

We are seeking a Behaviour Support Practitioner looking to step into a rewarding role that allows you to combine your professional skill and passion for participant care.

At this point in time, we are offering a contractor role with the view to go permanent, if it is something that you are interested in.

You will work with participants of all ages and their support team to develop intervention plans and recommendations that will help to reduce challenging behaviours. You will plan, monitor, and review participant outcomes in line with NDIS funding.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

As this is a contractor role candidates need to have or be willing to gain the following essential requirements:

  • DHHS Senior Practitioner Behaviour Support NDIS Practitioner Identification Number or is considered provisionally suitable
  • Meet the requirements to work as a Behaviour Support Practitioner under the National Disability Insurance Scheme Commission's Positive Behaviour Support Capability framework.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Working with Children Check and Police Check clearance.
  • 100 points of ID.
  • NDIS Workers Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety and You'
  • Registered ABN
  • Insurance which covers their Professional Indemnity (recommended min 1 million) and Public Liability (recommended min 10 million).
  • CPR and First Aid
DESIRABLE
  • Bachelor qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or Allied Health field.
  • Current registration with AHPRA or AASW.
  • Previous experience in completing behavioural assessments and developing support plans for NDIS participants.
  • A thorough knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support approaches.
