Salary: $79,592pa up to $154,889pa plus Superannuation and Leave Loading

Your role
DCJ Psychologist work to deliver psychological assessments, therapeutic interventions and other professional services to children, young people, families and carers; providing specialist consultation to DCJ managers and employees.
As a Therapeutic Specialist with clinical experts in trauma, therapeutic care, and behaviour support; you will guide assessments, develop and monitor case/treatment plans, collect and analyse data, and equip DCJ managers and employees through reflective practice sessions.

What you'll do

As part of the Psychological Services team at the Office of the Senior Practitioner, you will:

• Conduct various psychological, social, emotional, cognitive, developmental, behavioural and functional assessments to identify needs and develop treatment plans; providing informed intervention advise to clients.

• Deliver and evaluate therapeutic interventions and evidence-based therapies to support the needs of individual clients.

• Consult and provide advice to DCJ managers and employees assist in the decision-making process.

• Train DCJ employee's, families, carers, foster parents and external agencies on the exposure to abuse and maltreatment of children and young people.

• Provide clinical recommendations to ensure treatment gaols are facilitated by internal and external parties.

• Maintain records and provide reports in line with DCJ policies and procedures.

What we're looking for

• A highly skilled and in demand practitioner with the ability to ensure priority cases are addressed to enable DCJ to support children and young people.

• Work with children and young people who are experiencing or have experienced significant trauma.

• An ability to maintain good practices and professional standards and applying these in the context of DCJ policies.

Essential requirements

• A Tertiary qualification in Psychology recognised by the Psychology Board of Australia, either:

• full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia, or

• provisional registration with an ability to fulfill full registration within the relevant timeframes.

• A current Australian driver's licence
Appointments are subject to reference checks and may require the following checks/clearances:

• National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014

• Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012
